Ethne Global Services: Who We Are and What We Do

Posted on April 21, 2026May 8, 2026 by Chris Gibson

A short overview of Ethne Global Services here—who we are, what we do, and why our work is rooted in the local church and long‑term faithfulness. This is my church and sending organization and we are dedicated to education, equipping, discipleship, and church planting.

Ethne Global Services (EGS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2008 to provide holistic assistance to people at risk in the United States and around the world. Rooted in the local church and guided by the Great Commission, Ethne Global Services exists to serve vulnerable individuals and communities through church planting, education, leadership development, and compassionate care. EGS is actively engaged in ministry across 15 countries, working in partnership with churches, pastors, and local leaders to promote lasting gospel impact.

A defining emphasis of Ethne Global Services is church planting and church-based leadership formation. EGS supports and assists networks of churches in regions such as Myanmar, India, Cambodia, Africa, Central and South America, and the United States. In many places, churches have been planted directly through EGS ministry—in others, they have emerged through students trained, mentored, and sent with EGS support. Ethne Church Network functions as a sending and accountability structure, particularly in the United States, helping churches reproduce leaders while remaining theologically grounded and missionally focused.

Education is a cornerstone of Ethne Global Services’ strategy for addressing poverty and instability. EGS views education as both a gospel opportunity and a means of long-term community transformation. Currently, the organization supports students at various academic levels, including diploma, undergraduate, master’s, Doctor of Ministry, and PhD programs. To ensure stewardship and continuity, EGS maintains structured oversight of its educational initiatives, including administrative coordination for scholarship programs.

Beyond formal theological education, Ethne Global Services operates practical educational ministries, including an English and Computer School in Cambodia serving more than 130 students. These initiatives seek to equip individuals with skills that foster dignity, economic opportunity, and access to broader societal participation, particularly in communities where such access is limited or absent.

EGS also prioritizes direct care for vulnerable children and at‑risk populations. The organization fully supports children’s homes in Myanmar, providing holistic care for children affected by poverty, instability, and displacement. In addition, Ethne Global Services engages in specialized ministries that include medical assistance, refugee support, and advocacy for survivors of human trafficking—most notably in Malaysia, where EGS ministers among trafficked individuals who often lack legal protection, healthcare, or social services.

Looking forward, Ethne Global Services is entering a season of strategic expansion marked by increased project opportunities, deeper partnerships, and long-term planning. With leadership fully committed to the work and a growing global footprint, EGS continues to pursue ministry that is biblically faithful, church-centered, and holistically compassionate. Across all contexts, the organization remains committed to serving those at risk, strengthening the church, and advancing the gospel among peoples and places often overlooked
