Pastoral Counseling Disclaimer
Any spiritual or pastoral guidance provided through Recovering the Image Ministries is offered solely in the capacity of an ordained Christian minister. Such guidance is religious and pastoral in nature and is intended to support discipleship, spiritual formation, and pastoral care.
Recovering the Image Ministries does not provide clinical mental health services, psychotherapy, diagnosis, or treatment, nor does it represent itself as offering licensed counseling services. When clinical or specialized care is needed, the ministry prioritizes referral to appropriately licensed professionals while remaining engaged through pastoral oversight and community‑based support.
Individuals seeking mental health care should consult a licensed mental health professional.
Our Commitment
Recovering the Image Ministries is committed to long‑term faithfulness rather than short‑term programming. We invest in people, communities, and leaders with the intention of sustained discipleship, theological clarity, and mission impact over generations.
Recovering the Image is built upon the conviction that people are not defined by their failures, wounds, hurts, habits, hang-ups, shame, or suffering. Every person possesses God-given dignity because they are created in His image. Through Christ-centered discipleship, faithful community, biblical truth, and the work of the Holy Spirit, God restores people and equips them to serve others. This vision shapes every area of ministry, from recovery and counseling support to theological education and global mission.
The vision is simple but demanding:
People restored through Christ.
Communities formed through discipleship.
Leaders equipped by Scripture.
Servants sent to disciple others.
Restored Through Communion
God’s purpose is not simply the elimination of harmful behaviors but the restoration of relationship. Healing occurs as we grow in communion with God, develop healthy connections with others, and learn to receive and offer love in life-giving ways. Counseling and recovery becomes a journey of participation in God’s redemptive work, where we are continually being renewed into the image of Christ and equipped to reflect His character in the world.
Recovering the Image Process:
- Identity – Recovering God’s Image
- Story – Understanding How the Image Was Formed and Distorted
- Attachment – Recovering Secure Connection with God and Others
- Recovery – Breaking Cycles that Damage the Image
- Covenant – Restoring Faithful Relationships
- Discipleship – Being Conformed to the Image of Christ
- Mission – Reflecting God’s Image in the World
That progression mirrors the movement from creation → fall → redemption → communion → vocation, which is deeply consistent with our Imago Dei emphasis and the recovery/attachment framework that already runs through Recovering the Image. In fact, it is distinct enough that it becomes our model rather than simply a Christianized version of counseling and recovery.
